STREET LIGHTING
  • We voiced concerns about the reductions of street lighting by Powys County Council, and  have been successful in getting  lights switched back on in many areas

PROBLEMS ADDRESSED OR SOLVED:

  • Speeding along Cambrian Way, this still remains a problem.
  • Surface water, near Dinam Terrace, which caused problems in the winter  freezes and makes the road a large skating rink
  • All flat numbers of Mill Close Flats displayed at the end of each block, making it easier for people visiting to find their way. Eg doctors, nurses, carers and visitors.
  • Successful in getting the council to attend to the gardens in Mill Close so there is now a lovely flower display every year. This makes it a pleasant place for the residents
  • We tackled the rundown state of Cae Cymric Green.  New railings were installed to replace the crumbling wall. There is also better seating and improved paths around the green
  • There are many problems concerning the flow of traffic and the parking problems which residents have on the Top Canal Road. Cllr. Torrens  has met with the Highways Officer Mr. Tony Kane, now it has been decided to extend the  double yellow lines nearer the entry to Northside Hall
  • Concerning the flow of traffic  Cllr. Torrens to act re. this at the next Planning Schedule Meeting.  ?one way system
BROADBAND:

  • We have broad band set up in the hall and are in the process of getting a router installed SO everyone in the area (for a very small charge) can access the internet via broadband
OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATION:
  • We have renovated, painted and decorated a bedroom in Mill Close so families visiting their kin can stay overnight
CHRISTMAS SOCIAL
  • Every November we hold a Christmas Social/Prize Giving, which is enjoyed by all.
